Here are two stylized "paw print" designs and a "rake" design, These are common elements found at Sierra sites. (The "paw print" image is very suggestive of a bear track. A so-called "rake" design consists of a straight line with several perpendicular lines branching off from it.) Many different examples of "Bear tracks" can be found at sites throughout the northern Sierra Nevada as well as throughout North America. This element can be seen at approximately 60% of high Sierra sites. At this site cement has been added in recent years by the land manager to try to hold the fractured rock together.
